Bodensee, Rheinfall and a flower island

It is already the second year of travel to Ladenburg to start yet another driving journey in and around Germany, France and this year Switzerland as well. Even Germanwings cancelling my flight and making my five days holidays two days shorter did not manage to spoil the mood. Highways to and from Stuttgart is still something Germany needs to work on, but the stay in Drachenburg & Waaghaus in Gottlieben close to a Swiss boarder with a picturesque view on Rhine, Europe’s biggest waterfall Rheinfall in Schaffhausen and of course a flowery Insel Mainau made a few traffic mishaps worthwhile….

Pearls of Alzace and Festive Ladenburg

This time I decided to write in English, however hard it may be to express all the fun and gratitude to everyone who helped to make this time special. Idyllic Heidelberg

The first day was planned to visit Heidelberg so many times suggested by my friends. It was indeed what I have expected. Though we could not find a traditional city centre with a square and coffee houses everywhere, my fondness for the city grew bigger with every hour. Walking through Hauptstrasse to Heidelberg Schloss you will see the traditional shops and tourists, but with every small street that crosses main street there appeared a view on the hills with castle-like architecture.
